STUDENT ART
These paintings were created by students of Anouk Johanna's “Beginning Watercolor Magic” class taught at the ARTSCENTER in Carrboro, NC.
Painted as an interpretation of the sample photograph (taken by Anouk), the following techniques were studied: resist painting (including removable resist and irremovable resist), color mixing, layering, glazing, and various brushstrokes with different brushes.
The primary objective in these classes is always learning through experimentation and interpretation, and often the results are quite wonderful, as seen in the displayed paintings below.
Once the Beginning Watercolor Magic class is completed and the basic techniques have been understood and practiced, the Intermediate Watercolor Magic class is the next step for students who would like to continue.
