WATER COLOR : WET AND DRY

Hello Painters

Watercolor paint applied to wet paper behaves very differently than paint applied to dry paper.

There are four different ways to apply paint to paper:

wet (paint) on wet (paper), dry on wet, wet on dry and dry on dry.

Soft and hard edges naturally evolve from these applications.

Often we will combine them in one painting.

We will learn how a spontaneous and beautiful blending of colors

will take place directly on the paper when we apply wet paints to wet or dry paper.

It is amazing how fantastic watercolors can look!

We will work from inspiring Hand Outs as a jump off point but the paintings will paint themselves.

Materials will be kept to a minimum. Please email Anouk (anook@msn.com)

for the Material List and/or questions about the class.

There is a $8 Hand Out fee payable in the first class.

WATER COLOR JOURNALING

Hello Painters,

In this class we will work with watercolor paints, color pencils, ink pens and some collage.

Some knowledge of painting and drawing will be helpful but Anouk will give individual help

and guidance no matter what level you are on.

Watercolor Journaling is all about: simplifying, deleting unnecessary details and having fun doing it!

Learning how not to get caught up into details is essential when you want to record a place, object,

person etc and you  don't have a lot of time when you are on a trip or on a limited time schedule.

There will be inspiring Hand Outs to work from and weekly Critiques and Demos.

A $8 Material Fee is payable at the first class. Materials will be kept to a minimum.

WATER COLOR COLLAGE

Hello Painters

In this 5 hour workshop beginning and intermediate watercolor students will learn a

unique approach to the art of WATERCOLOR COLLAGE. We will prepare two paintings simultaneously:

one as a beginning of a painting and the other as a collage sheet using the same color palette as the painting.

We will tear shapes from the collage sheet and after careful positioning we will glue the shapes to the painting

which will then start taking on a whole new dimension. By doing this we will learn first hand about strong

compositions and especially about the importance of values and extension of color.  In the process we will also

touch on basic watercolor techniques like color mixing, washes, brushwork etc.

There will be inspiring Hand Outs to work from and demos will be given by the instructor as well as

feedback on students work. Individual attention will be given as time allows.

< Next Date To Be Announced >

Materials will be kept to a minimum.

Please email Anouk for the material list and/or questions about the class.

There will be a $8 Hand Out fee payable at the beginning of the workshop.
